Default Waterproof Jackets

Hi Guys, Newbie here...new to riding too. I went and bought a jacket and gloves after reading many posts about the need for proper riding gear. However, I think I made a mistake in my selection of jacket. Although the store had many to choose from, there was not alot of 2XL sizes for me to pick from. I settled on a Shift Avenger SS waterproof jacket. Now I realize that it appears the jacket is mainly for wet weather riding and cooler weather. duh, I probably will not be heading out if the chance of rain is high. There are no vents in this jacket and it seems damn hot. Is this jacket warmer than leather??? I believe it is of textile construction, but seems to have like a rubber coating on it. Advice please. I think I will be able to return it and exchange for something of a mesh construction. I leaning towards and Icon Hooligan now. All advice much appreciated. Here is what I currently have..

does it have a removeable liner in it ? its a nice looking jacket but function before style man, and besides, you cant go wrong with icon. with icon tho, try it before you buy it, they fit a little different. i wouldnt think that jacket is warmer then leather but being its a closed pore design, your getting no ventilation at all so it would turn into a sweatbox real quick.

the jacket you bought looks nice. But i'm sure your like everyone else out there you want to be cofortable while riding. Icon jackes are nice so are joe rocket jackets i have one of both. my icon i use for cool weather riding and my joe rocket is for hot days like today where i am. So just find a good jacket like either of these two and i'm sure you'll be happy.
