Default securing jacket to bike

So, I finally managed to get my hands on a jacket that I liked, thusly removing myself from the "douchebag who thinks he looks cool in shorts and tshirts on his bike" crowd.

\o/

Now I need to figure out a way to secure my newfound riding skin to my bike, for when I leave my bike alone during the summer.

Need a method on the cheap. I was thinking of getting some wire with steel loops on the end, and running one end into my helmet lock, the other end through the jacket sleeves, and then back to the helmet lock, but i'd imagine that'd be easy to cut.

Thoughts?

I keep one of those 6' bicycle cables under my seat. A little heavier duty than just a a piece of wire. I then attach it to the helmet lock under my seat.

I just don't trust leaving my gear on the bike unless I am within viewing distance at all times. When I go somewhere, I just take my jacket, gloves, and helmet with me.

Well, i'm just trying to find a way to leave it with my bike while i'm in class, and during class, I don't park on campus, I park at a family members house which is near campus, so there shouldn't be much risk of somebody messing with my jacket, especially considering that they live in a suburb.

Place the gloves inside of the helmet as you are carrying it, place jacket over the other shoulder! Carry your gear.

:O

I usually put my helmet inside of a helmet bag, and then lock it to the bike.

Bad idea?

Not a bad idea, but also not steal or spit proof.

Ah. I figure that putting the bike next to a pit bull/terrier mix breed, a Golden Retriever, and 3 chihuahas, must count for something.

Hopefully the helmet bag is "out of sight, out of mind" enough to keep it around for a few more months.

I'm way overdue for a new lid anyway though, just gotta find the 300 to dump into a Shoie or Arai. I saw a few at the dealership the other day when I was trying on jackets, and ****, the lining on those made my HJC feel like it was full of sand!

Soft is good

Jacket's too big, not to mention on the hotter days, it'd stink up my bag.

Helmet just won't work out, period.
