Decent legal turn signals for naked/dual sport bikes
I just went through two sets of cheap turnsignals trying to get rid of the red/chrome lollipops that came on the Zephyr. One pair had all three wires on BOTH signals pull out of the solder, in spite of one not even being plugged in or having any stress on it. The second set had a pair of wires break at the bulb socket... what junk.
So I did it right, I went to a Buell dealership and bought two sets of smoked lense (I think they do clear as well) rear turn signals for a Ulysses. At $15.99 each they were still a steal, since they're actually decent quality, small and very flexible stalks. They're DOT legal too. The one thing I had to do was to install a heavy duty automotive electronic signal relay that I got for $9.99 at Autozone, the bulbs are 10w vs the old 8w bulbs. Also I had to work hard to get the plugs in since the Zeph has like really small female sockets (the male plugs thanked me though, tight!). Now I finally have trustworthy signals that look good and actually look great.
If you are riding an older naked bike or a dual sport this is the hot ticket. The parts guy at Farrows knew exactly what I wanted and said a lot of dual sport riders bought them for replacements. They fit the Zeph including the little pilot pin, which matched up to the same corresponding purpose hole in the Zeph fender and headlight brackets. Nice.
