bypassing immobiliser zx9r 1999
Hi everybody! Here is what happened to me a while ago. My motorbike was stolen. A few days later a policeman knocked on the door saying that the thief has been caught and the motorbike is parked now at the local police station(can be collected from there once you show up with your logbook, etc). The problem I have now, is that the thief pulled out the ignition barrel which has never been found. I got a brand new ignition on ebay( with a set of plain keys). Shortly after that I realised that the bike has immobiliser fitted in What I have now is, the bike with brand new ignition, 2 brand new keys but NO SPARK. Does anybody know how to deactivate the immo??? Does anybody have any other ideas to fix it and put my bike back on the road??? Thanks

Welcome to the forums, tomasko. That "immobilizer" gizmo is a new one to me. What does it look like and where is it connected? I can think of numerous ways to immobilize a bike without using some device. Who installed that thing? Any extra info on it? Pics?

Thanks for a quick response guys. I've done some research today and this is what I"ve come across<see links-the diagram>. As far as I know this alarm box (this model) has immbiliser but I don't know what way it really works but I am nearly sure that this thing is cutting off the ignition. Would it be a good idea,an easy way if I got rid of it altogether and re-connected the wires??? Has anybody done it before??? Thank you

Holy crap! That's alot of (unnecessary) wiring to "immobilize" your bike! There are much easier ways...
Yeah; I would probably just reconnect all the original wires (properly; no wire nuts or butt connectors you'd have to trouble-shoot in 6 months!) Re-attach your wires and report back. I think it should work just fine.
(wow; hard to believe someone actually took the time to hack all those wires.....) Geeze.

Yep. I am with you, mate. The number of wires running out of the alarm box is just unbelievable... But the best thing about it is, that the thief never got his chance to have a ride on the bike, at least.
Anyway, the plan is, to play with the wires at the weekend. Hopefully, everything is gonna work out grand. I'll let you know how it went when the work is done. Alright Cheers!
