I mainly use spray detailer after every ride, waxing maybe once a month if that. But then my bike's never seen rain or moisture of any kind. Not even a garden hose.

mothers carnuba wax uses petroleum distilates.
in my experience it it rejuvinates old paint. restores elasticity and color.(sounds like an ad huh?)
the paint on my ZX9R appeared to get slightly thicker. on seat cowl there were deep cracks and damage on hte section that was covered by a foam pad that wore away. (its a 1995). after using it look like it healed. it looked new.
the compound also uses mild abrasives to scrub off the dead paint and polish the good stuff. the paint on my plastic looks very rich and deep and draws many compliments now.
petroleum distilates and abrasives got me to this point but i would not keep using them. now im going to switch over to a pure wax.

Being an automotive reconditioner myself, I use wax all the time on my rides. I believe every wax I've ever used had pertoleum distillates in them. I guess if it didn't give you cancer or a rash it wouldn't be any good, right??? As for Plexus, I would use it on dirt bikes or quads but not on a streetbike. Its meant more for unpainted plastics and lexan. If your bike has a clear on it your best bet is to use a good wax. I use idustrial cleaners for cars so the wax I get is expensive and not available in stores. They do sell 3M products as well and I have used them in the past. They work really well. If your bike stays rather clean and just gets dusty, amicro fibre rag to dust it off followed up by a quick spray and wipe of a spray cleaner like Meguirs Gold I believe it is called. It comes with a clay bar and some regular wax as well. The spray works good for a quick shine, it just won't last too long.

havn't waxed the bike but i suggest the Mothers and Meguirs products highly! i'm a neat freak with my vehicles (deej like) and i'll wax once every other week or so lol. i found Eagle F1 Show shine is BY FAR the best looking wax i've ever seen!! it doesn't last as long as i'd expect but makes the paint look VERY very deep, removes oxidation well, and leaves paint so slick and shiny you literally slide off the car if you lean on it (trust me from experience). it comes in a black box with a red saleen mustang or porsche on it and contains a good size bottle and pad.

i have some and will post pics when i wax the bike next.
