how necessary is it?
Im trying to decide weather or not to put the protective foam on the inside panels of my bike. If i were to get get all the foam for every panel its easily over 200 bucks. I was wondering if anyone knows what the purpose of the foam is and weather or not i can get away with not putting them on? will it ruin my paint? creat more vibration noises? or even if the heat will be unbearable at a light.

the foam is primamrily for sound reduction imo - but i have fiberglass panels on my bike now with no foam and notice little change when standing still and none when at speed.

if you are concerned about it you can buy raw materials and cut to fit. use the heat resistant sound proofing that they use under car hoods. its like dynamat for audio applications but is heat reflective.

i just order the thermo foam ill let know if i notice a difference , either way it ended up costing just under 1 bill which is much cheaper than the original.
