Default Piece of S... KZ550

Hey Guys, looks like this forum is kind of dead.

I'm currently rebuilding my 2010 HD Crossbones, but my PIS KZ550 LTD is in my shed awaiting rebuilding. I bought it 6 years ago and it has never run. I started to strip and rebuild but lost interest when I realized all of the problems. The new Cafe Racer TV show has inspired me to at least THINK about the project again.

Has anyone out there got a KZ550? My front wheel is bent (accident?), entire bike needs rewiring, have no idea about engine issues. BIG project. A little encouragement would be great!

I don't think you really want to see it. It's in my 1st shed, along with the lawn mower and has been collecting dust for years. I'll go home at lunch time and see if I can snap a picture.

hahaha, your storage/garden shed looks like my garage! lol

The KZ is not a race horse for sure, but a nice vintage toy. Would still be a nice daily street ride for sure. Not sure about that HD though. hmmmm not sure what to say about that one....but I will start looking to see if I have the manual on the 550. lol

Welcome to KF!

Anything is doable, the frame is a standard steel back bone. It is the weak suspension and brakes, etc I would be worried about. Normally cheaper to find a larger sized ride on craigs list that needs cleaned up.
