alright, found out that the cams were made my megacycle and they are there getting hard faced and reground as i type.

now i am gathering parts for reassembly.

it looks like i am going to have to pull the head to get to some of the idler sprockets in there.

are the head-studs yielded? aka do i need to replace them?

are cam chains rivit only?

got the cams back today, they look much better.

they listed the causes as valve float and low idle.
megacycle recommends a 1600rpm idle. along with redline high zinc oil

nope, all the time that the cam is in the bike.

they said that low rpm idle (stock) has too little oil flow and puts more stress on the nose of the lobe.

That is good to know. I will have to look up the redline high zinc oil pricing and info. On all of my rides, I use assembly lube, break in with some heat and load cycles, then place my amsoil 10w-40, new filter and call it good.
