Default KE 175 b-3 1978 2-stroke smoker

hello, does anyone know what charges the 6volt batt on this model? system is not charging all works with charged batt till it drains it. checked main fuse, all connections. thanks

Not sure, older bikes tend to have alternators but with the size of your's its probably a stator/rectifier unit. Check your manual to test the unit, should be an easy fix once you narrow it down.

I do not have a 175 manual, but the rectifier or a bad connection is my first opinon as well. Welcome to KF

www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xJmpRsIZDYThis video shows how to replace the rectifier on a trail 90. It's a 6 volt system and the rectifier is a universal one from Radio Shack...costs about $4. Might be worth looking into if you find your rectifier is bad. If the link doesn't work, search on youtube for CT90 rectifier upgrade. Also, Oregon Motorcycle Parts Products has a step by step instructions on how to test a rectifier on their site, also might be worth a look.
