Hey everyone!
I'm looking for suggestions for a good around town/tinker bike. I like to work on vehicles and stuff in my spare time, and would like to start tinkering with the 2 wheel types. I know that a first road bike shouldn't be one that has too many problems, so a pre-08 Ninja 250 stuck out. Might be small for a 220 pounder, but it's only around town and my first bike, so I'm not complaining. Thank you in advance!

 

the pre gen 250's are normally a good deal for a first ride. Not much to tinker with though. The EX500 would be my favorite for the same price or less. I love mine. I picked up an '86 VFR 750 for under $100 as well. There are alot of '80's ninja 750's out there for good prices. For example the '88 ninja 750 was a great long distance ride of mine. Averaged around 17k/miles a year on that one.
