Should I assume that you've checked for water or other in the gas tank? If so then check for blockages from the tank to the carb, that includes pinched lines. Make sure the rubber lines, if any, haven't collapsed and if you have a filter make sure it's clean. It may need a fuel line and carb cleaning and adjustment especially if it sat all winter.

Is the gas turned on? Is carborated so you know there is a fuel shut off valve right? Just wondering because I see it's your first post. Heck I have left the fuel off about 4-5 times get 2 blocks and the bike shuts off lol.

Except that the EN500 doesn't have an off on the valve. It is vacum controlled and fuel won't flow unless the engine is turning. There is no need of an off.

What year is your bike? Does it have "run", "Prime", and "Reserve"? My 2006 runs out of gas early (163 miles and 133 miles after filling) and is hard to start on reserve. If it begins to sputter and I switch to reserve, the bike will not continue on, but will stall and sit for 10-15 minutes bvefore re-starting.

I am having chronic problems with my 2006 Vulcan 500. I fill it up and at 163 miles (2.7 gal to fill)and later 133 miles (2.2 gal to fill) it runs out of gas. It is getting 60 mpg, which is great, but it is HELL to restart after it runs out. The tank is supposed to hold 4 gal with .8 gal. reserve, so there should be 3.2 gal. available, which would give me 180+ miles to fill. Only in my dreams. Kawasaki customer service had no solution or help, but admitted getting calls about this problem.

Anybody ot there having this problem?
