The valvetrain is a bit noisy, but with aftermarket pipes you'll never notice it. I run a set of Bub Jug Huggers. They are probably the best looking set of pipes available for this bike and the sound amazing even with tthe baffles still in.

I just bought a 06 Mean Streak and love it. Sold my 04 10r and decided to get something a bit more relaxed. Have been looking and researching different exhaust pipes. Read that most do NOT improve over stock sytems in terms of performance. Any info or experience with this? With the Bub Jugs or V & H pipes , did you need to install power commander or dobeck?

Bought a 07 meanie about 2 months ago. Went in to buy a tire for a Yamaha v-star, came out with my meanie. I love it, lots of power, cool paint job, but I do scrape the pavement every day in the corners. Pegs no problem, but I've also scraped the heat shield on my pipes a few times.[sm=shades.gif]
