Default 1600 Nomad Tires

I need a new rear tire for a 1600 Nomad. None of the main tire mfgr have a "Fittment" for a 170/70x16. Does any one have any recommendations for something other than the OEM Stones?

Thanks.

Hi,
I put Metzeler ME 880 Touring Tires frt: 150/80-16 MC71H, rear: 180/70R-16 MC77H on my 05 Nomad and IMO they are 10 times better than the stock tires! The 180/70R-16 fits with on problem. I would not mismatch tire manufactures though. Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Jim

I have a 1600 Nomad and was looking for Wide White Walls for my bike. I ordered the Metzelers and I am having the tires mounted today. Unfortunately, Kawasaki has wierd tire sizes for thier bikes. I wanted WWW's and had to sacrifice sizes. I did some research and most people recommended the Metzelers for performance, look and durability. I will find out soon how good they are. Anything are better than the Bridgestones.

I am wonder what Merzelers you mount on you Nomad and what size on the rear. Does the bike handle well?. I have run two sets OEM with about 8,000 mile on each tire. Surely we can do better than that with another brand.
