Default 1600 classic backrest

Does anyone have a tall backrest (used or new) that they want to sell or trade? I recently bought a cobra backrest that was supposed to be a tall but the company sent me a short one and will not exchange it even though it was their error.[:@] I only really need the backrest and not the mounting brackets but I know it's next to impossible tofind just a tall backrest. I appreciate all of your help. Ride Safe!

Redhead,
That's rediculous! What company did you order from? How long ago did you order and do you have a sales receipt? In today's age of out-pricing by numerous online retailers, it's hard to believe someone has the odasity to NOT honor an exchange, especially of their own error.

Who are they and let's see if we can't bad-mouth them out of existance...[>:]

And BTW, are you referring to the sissy bar or the drivers backrest?

Keep your chin up and let's see if we can't get to the bottom of this,
Daryl

Redhead,

FWIW, the guy who made my driver's backrest for the Suzuki blvd C50T I just traded in is going to make a prototype for the Vulcans and Nomads. His work is WONDERFUL, and it's AFFORDABLE. I've seen the Nomad driver backrest for $300 and change. The driver backrest I bought from him for my Suzi was $85 and it matched the Mustang seats I had to a tee (fitment, quality, durability).

So, if you're interested in a drivers' backrest, keep in touch and I'll update you on the progress of the prototype.

The backrest is in its final stage. I'm sending it back to Lonnie at www.grasshopperlimited.com for the final fine-tunings. It should be good to go in a week or so. Still no word on price, but anyone can contact him if interested. Nice clean, simple design and gets the job done. Good linear adjustment for the curvature of the spine, easy to install, and easy to remove. Sleeve stays in place; backrest slides out. Niiiiiice!

Redheadonbike,

www.grasshopperlimited.com now makes a backrest for the 1600Nomad. I assume it'll fit the 1600 Classic as well. Lonnie is a heckuva nice guy. Made the backrest for my C50T, which I loved and the reason I went the extra mile to help him with the prototype for the Nomad backrest. Pix of them on my bike here:

And NO, for the record, I don't have any financial or personal ties to Lonnie or Grasshopper Limited! He just makes a great product for a fair price, that's all.

Check him out,
Daryl
