Default Valve lash adjusters

I have a 95 Vulcan 1500. Im about to pull the motor to repair an oil leak and was thinking about rebuilding the engine while its out. Looking at some of the prices of the parts some are quite expensive and some not. The valve lash adjusters alone will cost about $450 alone. Their is considerable chatter from the top end of the engine as ive read LOTS of forums describing all of the parts that make the chatter. Is their anything special about the valve lash adjusters that they cant be machined at a machine shop? I have access to one that has lots of CNC machines.all i would have to buy would be the stock..Ive never looked at an adjuster other than pictures of them but at about $50/piece and i need 8 of them, i say why not try to make some. Has anyone done this before or does anyone think they can be easily machined????

Thanks for your time and hope someone can answer the question.
BTW Have a Happy Thanksgiving...

Get your manual out and get a shopping list if needed together. Good luck on the project
