Default What was your first bike(s)...

I'll go first. Here's some pics I dug up of my entry in the world of motorcycles (all are originals of my bikes except for the first one that I grabbed off the internet):

1. first motorized 2-wheeler was a Rupp mini bike with a 3.5 hp Tecumseh engine, circa 1965??

2. moved up to a Bonanza mini bike with a 100cc Hodaka Ace 5 speed motorcycle engine, complete with the light package. Circa 1969??. Licensed this one and road on the highway (pic courtesy of the interenet). Would smoke most anything out there up to 60 mph!

3. my first real motorcycle was none other than a 1971 Kawasaki F7 Enduro. 175 cc of pure bliss (or so I thought). New price, approx. $700. Pic shows her in highly modified form that I moto-X'd a few times (boy, those were the days) The parts are sitting in my shop awaiting restoration...

A pic of me power sliding the F7..

Moto-X action at the Eli Whitney Moto-X park (farmer's field near my home on, you guessed it, any Sunday!)...I'm in there somewhere....(circa 1972 or 73?)

4. next up was my journey into streetdom with a 1972 Yamaha DS7 250cc twin two smoker/ New price, approx. $650. It later sprouted a full road race fairing....

5. last bike before the "twins" arrived, 1979 Yamaha RD400F Daytona Special. New price approx. $1700. Last two smoke air cooled twin street bike Yamaha shipped to the US...she was hot! Sold her when the "guys" showed up and took control of my life and money
[IMG][/IMG]

6. latest acquisition, 1979 Yamaha RD400F Daytona Special. A little worse for the wear but something to keep me young at heart as I nurse her back to life! Price now...more than I paid for the first one plus a whole lot more to get her going.

OK....load up this thread with some goodies, especially the classics from the AARP crowd...happy motoring and happy mudding.

kmac250, good score on the FPP pipes on that rd400. From what I have read, they are one of the more desirable aftermarket pipes for the RD's. If you decide not to keep them, they should bring a pretty good dollar on Ebay.

An early 80's (mybe late 70's) RM125. I dont know the year we (my Brother and I) bought it with our saved money and it did not have a title.

Back in the good ol' days Ha!

Honda Trail 90 from My dad. Had a couple more bikes I cant remember what they were exactly. Then a Ninja 250 that was not even mine just on loan for a year from a friend that bought it droped it and did not want to ride it anymore. Bought myself a Honda NX250 new Totaled it, bought it back from the insurance company and traded it for a 18' hobie cat. Bought another NX250 and kept it for a couple years. Just got back into bikes again this year and now I have KLX330s and KLX250sf Dont think I will be without a bike again.
