New Handle Bars ??
Hey whats up everyone,
I haven't been on in awhile, been really busy or out riding. I bent my handle bars today. So I wanted to order a new pair tonight, but wasn't sure what one's would work. I want to get new one's that are a bit higher. The bars are to low when I'm standing. I was checking out the ricky c renthal bars at dennis kirk becuase they are taller but there 1" 1/8. I measures the diameter of ours and there 7/8". So i was wondering if any of you guys know if all the stuff on the oem bars are adjustible and would fit or no? Also if not, any suggestions on what I'm looking for? Do they have to be 7/8 bars to work with the stock throttle, etc, etc Thanks!!!!

I have Renthal bars and LOVE them. The bend is called "Yamaha Raptor 80" ATV bar and they are the same width and sweep as the stockers but 1.5" taller. Perfect for standing. All OEM wires and cables fit but they're snug. You need to loosen the wire ties under the fairing and re-tie them in a different place but it's an easy install.
I have the Pro Taper SE (seven eighths) cr high bars and love them too. They have premade hash marks for cutting. I wouldn't cut them past '2' if I was you- it gets real tight with all the switches. Don't cut them if you want to put on bark busters either.
I have the ricky c pro-tapers (they have a flatter bend than the stock ones) on my bike with the Tag universal mounts. this allows me to use the 1 1/8th dia bars and raised them up another 2/3 of an inch. this works perfectly for me and I am 6'1".
I was looking at the travis pastrana freestyle bend (sweep is the about the same as the Ricky C's but taller) but my dealer did not have them in 7/8".
Also, your stock bars have holes on the backside for the plastic nubs on mounting your plastic light switch (left side) and starter switch (right) on your bars. you will need to file these down to put them on your new bars. And all handle bars are 7/8" where the grips and levers are so mounting your grips, throttle ect won't be a problem.
