Default What size hex socket for front axle?

I'd rather not guess or buy a whole set that large. I have a good selection of smaller hex sockets, but nothing that large. Any help appreciated.

It's a 12mm. I was unable to find a hex-socket (which would be nice, since they have to be torqued to 88Nm.)
Since I don't have the hex-socket, I get it as hand-tight as I can, then slip a steel pipe over the allen-key and tighten it an extra 1/4 turn. Then lift the front wheel to make sure it spins freely with no binding.

I found a 10mm hex socket at sears whenI was doing the heads on my car, If you look hard enough I'm sure you will be able to find one in your size.

I too was able to find a 10mm, but that seems to be as large as they come. Even Snap-On, Craftsman and Kowa-Seiki. At one point I took a Dremel to the shaft of a stray 12mm bolt and was able to torque them that way, but my butthole, ex-friend, Richard borrowed it and never gave it back.

Guess you could cut off an alan wrench and weld it into a socket, make sure to borrow your freinds tools to do that.

That is the basics that I did. Cut off an allen wrench, fit it in socket, drill andpress ina pin. No welding of course.

dunno which would be better I've seen sockets split before, and either way would weaken it if you don't do it right. I'm sure it voids your craftsman lifetime warranty
