Default Well I wasnt to happy

Was putting new bike in the new shed with the newly built ramp and was rushing like a dumbass. Well I tried to get it up in there all in one shot and got the front in and the back tire hits the bottom of the ramp and my foot slips, bike starts going to the right and hits the door frame of the shed on the gas tank! Now there is a damn dent in it, not too big but its right where the K is. I was thinking of getting a new gastank but I think there is this places near me that can pop it out. There are only minor scratches that I think can be buffed out but man it sucks. Perfect bike no more.[:@] I was sooo pissed the rest of that day and I had to go to work which is why I was rushing. Boy I'll NEVER do that again! This happend like a week or so ago but now its not that big of a deal, its still an awsome looking bike, and still perfect on one side, lol. Still sounds and rides perfect soo for now Iam just gonna leave it. It just sucks but I know I gotta take it like a man (or woman) and learn from my mistakes. The only thing is the dent is right in where the crease is, but if someone fixed my cracked and dented cast aluminum wheel Iam sure someone can fix a steel gas tank. Anyways I was wondering if anyone has had this happen and would know how much it might be?

I wont be able to get it for awhile because I have to get the oil changed and a valve adjustment. Its at like 830 miles now, have wound it out a bit but didnt open the throttle all the way and it seems to be running perfect, not valve tap or anything. Yes I know I might get flamed for it but I went and talked to a mechanic before it got to 600 miles and he said really it just a ballpark, anything from 600-1000 is fine, wont hurt anything. Also he said to store it he just puts fuel stabil in it and doesnt even have a centerstand and his bike is always fine. Might not be able to get the oil changed and valve adjustment before winter and I hope that it doesnt hurt it any! I just got a new job cause I just got a car finally and had to take what I could get so its not many hours but enough to pay the bills for now. Cycle max said with labor and oil and the valve adjustment its gonna cost like $240.00 so I gotta save for that before I do anything to the tank plus Iam tryin to fix up my car and get new tires and inspection. Thanks in advance to all that post and I hope that Iam not writing posts that are too long, lol.

SLOW DOWN!!! LOL

That sux to hear about the dent N' all. At least by the sound of it, nothing worse happened. My 750 fell over once all because the kickstand wasn't extended all the way. luckily nothing happened to it.

The dealer told me they wanted between 350-400 bucks to do the service, so I did my own service at the 550 mile mark for FREE! It seems though that you got a good deal at $240.

yup, anytime something happens to a ride sucks. Whether crashing, falling over, or when the 3 yr old takes a hammer to it. Still sucks.

Yeh, experience. Was just putting other posibilities out there that could happen was all. Nothing that happens seem logical at the time, memories though, you learn by them. Sorry to hear about your ride non the same.

Na, it fell over right outside my garage. it DID do a few things, but nothing that damaged the bike. Forks got a little tweaked, so I had to re-align them with the front wheel. Also, the fall moved my turnsignal a little out of place, but all I had to do was move it back again. You would never be able to tell it was ever dropped if you saw it though.
