Default New Rider

I have a new-used 500r in my garage!!!!!!!! Just got it last night. I cant post pictures but it is the one in my last post "should I buy"

I am getting my gear today:

Should a good leather jacket, helmet, boots, and gloves be ok with thick jeans! I want to be as safe as i can out there!

I am so thrilled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats!

Glad to hear you got the bike. Jeans will work, but from what I've heard is if you take a spill, they have the tendency to tear. If you're really concerned, get some actual motorcycle pants.

Have fun on your[sm=smiley20.gif] NEW/USED bike!

Regular jeans have a pretty low friction resistance, in other words, if you go down, they really don't offer that much protection, look into getting a set of overpants made out of Denier Nylon or leather. Or you can pick up a couple of pairs of kevlar jeans like the ones offered by DragginJeans and Icon. Other than that Helmet, gloves, and a jacket and you are good to go. Oh, also, a good pair of over the ankle work boots or motorcycle boots are a must. They will protech your ankles from impact, abrasion, and hyperextension.
