My 750 ZXi dash gauges don't function and the tilt/trim does not operate. The jet ski starts and runs great. Fuses are good. What else can I check?

I have a 1998 1100 zxi. Had similar problems with mine that turned out to be a bad/disconnected ground wire that goes to the trim control module under the front compartment. In my case, there are two ground wires that hook up to the battery and one of them goes directly to that module. I forgot to hook that wire up when I used the ski first time this season. Had everything apart and traced the ground from the module and saw it hanging just above the battery where you couldn't see it looking down into the ski. good luck.

Thanks. There is a wire that is connected to the positive terminal of the battery. Is there another? I will check to see where the other end of the wire terminates. A black box is under the dash. Do you know what might be in it? It would be difficult to access.

The wire I am speaking of is a ground wire not positive. The black box that I speak of is sealed and has no access. My positive side only has one wire on it. Neg has two.

I may have a huge oops with that "wire". Hope I haven't shorted out the controls. I will try moving the wire to negative terminal.

Moved the ground wire and the trim and dash works. Fuel level gauge is not working great, it only registers half full. Could this be the sending unit or something else?
