Default New exhaust for Ninja500R

Hey everyone..i'm pretty new to the boards as well as new to the Ninja family...i just bought an 05 ninja 500R and im pretty satisfied with everything..except for the exhaust...i hate the way it sounds..it doesnt sound like a street bike...it sounds more like a dirt bike..does anyone know of a better exhaust or a way to make it sound better?..

Welcome!

I don't know of any quick fixes...but then again, I'm not exactly a 500R tech guru.

As for pipes, I'm sure there are plenty of manufacturers to choose from for your pipe. You'll have to research it a bit. I checked on indysuperbike.com and they do have a Hindle slip-on and a D&D full system. To my knowledge not much has changed for the 500R, but since you do have an '05 you may want to make sure that whatever you decide to order fits right.

Happy hunting. I just ordered a slip-on as well.

Andy

Okay, I found some more. These are on bikebandit.com. They have a Jardine system (~$250) and a Vance & Hines system (~$309) both for an '87-'03 EX500. I think it would, but you may want to check to make sure it fits an '05.

Hope that helps.

They don't make frame sliders for that bike so what I did for my wifes is get a set of R1 sliders(cause they are the same length) and install them on the rear peg mount bolts. That is about the only place you can put them without modifying the bike.

Ummm, I believe they do make frame sliders for the 500's. I posted this not too long ago in the 500 section https://www.kawasakiforums.com/m_2303/tm.htm

hey everyone thanks alot for the info...as far as exhaust..i went with the full muzzy system for my 500....that should be on the bike sometime next week...i also bought a smoked windshield, carbonfiber tank pad, and modified/chopped the rear fender...the only thing left really are the turn signals, and mirrors...only 2 things i wanna change before the end of the summer...i'm having trouble deciding which turn signals to go with, since it seems u cant get signals specifically made for the ninja 500...can anyone maybe steer me in the right direction...maybe tell me where they got their specific signals from..i would appreciate it..cause those big bulky signals HAVE TO GO!!!..lol[:'(]
