Default HELMETS

So I looked into the helmet situation, trying to find a really light helmet. The HJC were at I think 1500grams and the Suomis are like 1250 which i think is like 3.17lbs not sure and the Arais are like 1250 grams. Thats really not much of a difference, but ai guess a little counts. Anything has to be better than my cl-14 bucket HJC which i think is 1500grams and 3.3 lbs. BUt for $500 damn thats so harsh (well the souami are so nice though)

If any you guys get bored and do some research and come up with a light helmet and any better price Id like to see it.

My Schuberth S1 was 1789 grams [&o] I still love it though.

and 1500 bones for a helmet is kind of pricy

The best helmet I have ever had was a Vega. Cheap little helmet, but awesome. Lightweight, the lightest one I've ever had, no fogging, and fit my head perfect. I had a lot further turning range than my HJC, and a better fit too... I bet I have a pic somewhere of it, if you want it....

HEY BIGRIG, thanks alot, some really good info. I just ordered 2 of the BMW helmets $1500x2

Just KIDDING, but man if i was rich id do it in a heartbeat, 2.2lbs 1000grms!!!!! u cant beat that. That is lighter than the open faces, unbelievable!!!!

Seems like the next best thing is the OGFF-4 at 1409grams 3lbs 1/3 oz, at $302 for the solids and $423 for the replicas, What is the difference??? IT is actually a really cool helmet, the back is weird looking. But I might look into this helmet being the lighest out of the heaviest. The price isnt to bad either, beats the Suomis out by like $250 and is 160grams lighter.

Right now Im rocking the HJC Cl-14 @ 1704 grams!!!! holy crap no wonder why my neck feels like a fat kid's bicycle seat. Well also I have a bulging disk as well, cant forget bout that.

Switching to the OGFF-4 will save me 300 grams, is it really worth it, I dunno, Id really have to test it, i dont know what the difference in weight feels like.

THANX BIGRIG! good info!

Ya, no prob bro. And yes, you will feel a big difference in just a little bit of weight. You'll be surprised.... no no, not selling my Vega. I can give a pic if you want it, for illustration puposes. It was like $110 brand spankin new. Half the price of my other ones. The vega weighs 3lbs 2oz. The only bad thing about the Vega, it has a high chin area, so at high speeds you have a buffering wind noise. The HJC is a lot quiter, but HEAVY. But it's a flip face too, tho' . I wear my cheapie 8x compared to 1x maybe on the HJ.. better vents on the vega too. the vega fits better so maybe there's a difference there???? A friend of mine has a Jafrum, www.jafrum.com It's about as light and as comfortable, but it fogs really bad. Ya the OGFF seems like a pretty good deal in comparable helmets...
