February winner!
I bought my 2001 Kawasaki Drifter 1500 a year and a half ago. I hadn't had a bike in 25 years, and this was a much larger bike then any I had before. When I found my two owner bike, she had bags and a windshield, but she was stripped of any badges and needed tires and some general lovin' pretty bad. I thought it looked kinda naked ( An early pic: http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3...r/IMG_0451.jpg ), so I added custom emblems. I also added wide whitewall tires and a bunch of leatherwork. Some of the leatherwork I bought, but most I made myself. I have a solo seat, and a 2up, as well as a trunk project I'm working on ( Trunk is off of a '69 Harley, and it's nowhere near done, but here it is: http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3...r/IMG_0786.jpg ). Because of the floating rear fender on the Drifter, I had to custom make the brackets for the trunk. I decided to cover the brackets in some of my custom leatherwork to set them apart. The bike is basically mechanically stock, though I did upgrade the clutch spring to a Meanstreak spring. She's as reliable as they come and gave me 8000 trouble free miles last summer. I'm looking forward to many more miles in the future, so let's go ride!

Bore and Stroke - 68 x 43.8 mm
Compression ratio - 12.9:1

The bike also features a 6 speed transmission with a wet multi-disc, manual clutch (slipper clutch), a fully adjustable Showa front fork and a race-developed bottom link type Uni-Trac rear suspension. A set of Bridgestone BT-016 tires keep the bike nicely connected to the roadway underneath. And helping to stop the bike are a set of radial mounted 4-piston front brake calipers, and a large diameter, semi-floating, drilled, stainless steel wave rotors out back. The combination delivers exceptional feel and performance. The bike also features custom polished and painted wheels, custom paint and tribal warrior decals! I'll see you all on the streets!

2006 KLX 250 S. Mods are Full Muzzy, Jetting 132 and 40, and gears are 13-45.

I bought the first one on the Olympic Peninsula here in Western Washington. In fact I saw it more than a month before the shop even got them in. That was November of 05, and now I have 14,300 miles on it and it's been a blast.

When I found this website back in 05, there wasn't even a KLX section. There was only a KLR 250 and KLR 650 section. When I got a hold of the site Admin/Owner and asked him if he could add a section for this bike he was happy to do it.

Now nearly 4 and a half years later and 17,500 posts it just feels like home.

Thanks for all who voted for me.
