Default NEW '07 650 R

Got my 1st bike on Sunday, a new '07 650 R.

I notice that I up shift too hard, and can not get from 2nd to 3rd
unless I first lightly push the shifter down.

Guess I need to learn to shift a little moregently.

Has anyone else had this problem?

The only problem I have had with my bike is when I do not put enough pressure on the 1st to 2nd upshift, and it happens to go into nuetral.

You gotta make sure the lever is returning fully to it's rest position before shifting again. You might not be moving your foot down enough between shifts. Also, like your motor, your gearbox needs some time to break-in. I've got 1700 miles on mine now and it shifts like butter -insanely smooth, like there's little soleniods in there helping! If that don't work, it is still under warranty, maybe you need your return spring(or whatever is in there, lol)adjusted or replaced.

I notice that mine was a little sticky shifting at first. Just past 300n miles on and it is shifting great.

Might be a little rough at first but i've got 8100 miles on it and as ninja650dude said: Shifts like butter. Couldn't hurt to have a tech look at it tho, in case something is really F'd up.
