Default Guess how stupid I am

SoI did the most retarded thing I have ever done in my life last night. So the main reason for this post is to see if it is going to be causing any major problems. Basically I did an oil change on the bike, and after putting my new oil in and cleaning everything up I found the washer for the oil plug in the dirty oil that was just drained. I had neglected to double check to make sure it was on the plug. I do not have any leaks andeverything seems fine, but does anyone here think this will cause a major issue, or should I be good until my next oil change? I just really do not want to have to leak oil out every where trying to put the plug back on withthe washer this time. No matter how fast I may be, I am not that good. Any input?

it will leak eventually, and you should replace the washer every oil change too.

Oil is cheap compared to the cost of a new motor. Replace oil and do not for get the washer this time.

yeah best to replace the washer, if it does start to leak it will be dripping right into the path of the rear tire.

Cool guys thanks, that is kind of what I was figuring. Appreciate the input. I had never heard to replace the washer everytime...that is new to me but appreciated. Will take care of it tonight.

Yeah I just changed everything out again last night. This time the washer is there. Appreciate all the input though guys. Hopefully I wont have to ask for anything quite so dumb in the future.

You could have done much worse, like stripping out your drain plug or screwing up the threads on the engine side of your spin on oil filter.Just check the crush washer from now on.

yeah 10-4 washer should be replaced every oil change, you could of drained the oil then drove it around, that would have been dumb, or put coolant in the fill,
