What are you guys doing to get the road grime off from behind the front tire? I've got a Kawi green 04 636 and the black crud stands out. I went too long without giving her a good cleaning (three weeks of riding every day) and now its pretty much part of the bike.

yeah wd40 works well as a solvent for petroleum based grime

 

Goof off, goo gone, any of that stuff, dont use oven cleaner, gas, napalm any of that kind of stuff

 

what? no napalm or det cord? ok, will stick with wd40

I just spent about 30 min with a can of WD40 and some elbow grease. She's never looked this good...

Not always possible, but try to get in the habit of giving your bikea quick wipe-down after every ride. I do the same with my helmet/shield, and it seems to incrementally make the bugs and crap that does get on both, easier to remove. I just use a microfiber cloth and a name brand detailer for the bike, and mild soap/water in a spray bottle (spray on m/f cloth; not the helmet). For the tar-type stuff, +1^ on the WD40 as suggested. My 2cents.
