Default Z 1000 or FZ 1

Guys i've been shopping for a while and i',m down to a handfull of bikes....The Z 1000,FZ 1,FZ6,Honda 919, and the Honda 599.....
My main question is ........not sure if i really need a litre class bike for the touring i'd like to do.....my main goal is RANGE of mileage,vs. performance.I know that the FZ6 and Honda 599 are all alone here in range but what about handling ......more handling than performance.I ultimatley am looking for a nice touring maching to superscede my KLX250..........I have owned a handful of bike's before ...(mostly '70s vintage yami's) I want a semi upright seating position and some decent comfort over at least a 200 mile day.....just looking for opinions and i figured i'd look at the big bike owners first for opinions.....you guys have tinkered on most bikes enough to offer some suggestions.

Z1000 definitely looks the best out of those choices, don't know about comfort though, have you considered a zzr1200, seems like that would be a better choice for the mileage ou are looking at.

I havn't looked at that one yet.....The wife said she liked the looks of the Z1000 the best out of all of them...tho she will never be a passenger her input (besides looks of a machine) usually has been reguarded as good.... lol...I also was going to look at the 'Zuk SV650 as a v- twin may suit me well.....still not sure if i need all that much bike to do what i want...remember, I have ridden the little klx on a 300 mile day before and i was very good till about 240 miles where my rear just went numb for a while.....I pretty much rode home standing up for the remainder of the ride....which was fine as the ergonomics permit that .....I'd just like to get 200 miles on a good day without feeling run thru the mill.......maybe a 2 hour rest and then do some more.I know i can always modify the seat if i need to i'm just worried about how much weight is placed on the body and where...as in a cruiser is more on your back and a sport bike is more on your forearms.......i'm looking for a happy compromise in that respect.I can always make the seat work for me.
