Finaly had to put a new battery in my 2003 12-f. Bought a wal-mart battery and now when I turn the switch on the digital "tack/fuelguage/speedomter" will power up but the RPM's don't register and after 5 min of riding teh display will go off like it doesfor the power saver when the engine is not running and won't come back on unless I turn the battery off then on again, but then the display will do the same thing as above.

Any Clues?

No not yet I'm going to take it to the dealer as soon as I get a chance. The one thing I'm leaning towards is that the book at wal-mart is wrong and I have the wrong battery. I can't find the AH rating for the power max that there book called for. I was riding it yesterday and the battery alarm came on and that was the longest the display stayed on. Over a 4 mile range the alarm came on and went off 8 times.
