I will be replacing my rubber B4 spring hits. Just wondering what tires you guys like and why. I have heard alot of good thing about michelin pilot powers. any experience with these?

 

super sticky but wear quickly.....if you are an everyday rider go with the bridgestones unless you have the money to be buying tires all the time.

 

I agree they do wear quicker but fell like your on rails. I would say try a pair you can order Pilot Powers front and rear online for about 220 shipped. I just paid 149.00 for a new rear from my local dealer.

Also you my want to try the Dunlop 208's they stick pretty good and wear for ever. Hard riding and I mean full speed max leaned turns they wear faster then the pilot powers. For everyday, though they are great.

i know you asked about the pilots, but i use my bike for everyday. i got 10 thousand miles on my bridgestone rear before i changed it....

 

I have bridgestone battlax on mine they seem pretty sticky. I always have little rocks in my lower cowling after i ride around my house.

 

A lot depends on your type of riding. Do you mainly commute or do you hit the twisties hard? If you mainly commute, look at a "sport touring tire" such as a Dunlop 220, Bridgestone 020, or Metzler Z6. If you hit the twisties on a regular basis, go with a "sport tire" like a Dunlop 208ZR, Metzler M-1, or some Pilots. I commute daily and hit the twisties ( as many as South Florida has ) pretty regular. I have been using the 208ZR for quite awhile and like them. I get about 5k out of the rear and have got 9k from the front.
I change both tires at the same time now though. Nothing like riding on matched rubber.

 

pretty much the same as you, daily rider but i hit the twisties as much as possible. I might try the pilots to see what kind of mileage i get out of them. I put a little less than 1000 miles a month on my bike so i would defiantely like tires that will last aboout 6-7 thousand miles.

 

The 208s gave me the best mileage and the stick dam good. Pilots stick even better and wear better on the track than the 208's but do not get the mileage out of the everyday ridding as the 208s.

 

Pilot powers rock..... Had them on my SV1000s When I
Traded it in on my ZZR1200 I had the dealer swap out
the Dumlops for the powers.....
